We bring you…Manchester’s first ever ‘electric bike ride’

Manchester's first ever electric bike ride organised by Sugar PR for Fletcher Day and 50cycles

We bring you…Manchester’s first ever ‘electric bike ride’

We were delighted to handle the PR as business professionals in Manchester launched the city’s first ever electric bike ride in aid of the WeLoveMCR Emergency Fund.

Lawyers, accountants, bankers and corporate finance professionals teamed up to ride the twenty-kilometre route from King Street in the city centre, along the Manchester Ship Canal to Altrincham Market House on superb electric bikes.

The event was organised by our clients, the Manchester-based commercial law firm Fletcher Day and the bikes were supplied by 50cycles.com, the UK’s largest electric bike retailer.

Top firms took part

Firms taking part included Manchester accountants Sara Walters , law firm Potter Rees Dolan and business sales specialists Aspire. There was extensive media buzz about the event and you can read more about it in this fabulous article in the Manchester Evening News Business section here.

Andy Herricks, corporate partner at Fletcher Day, said:

We’ve pulled together a range of professional services advisers in Manchester to do something truly unique in Manchester. We hope that it will be the first in a series of electric bike rides across the city we’re organising to raise awareness and funds for this important charity.

Scott Snaith, managing director of 50cycles.com, said:

We’ve provided the e-bikes for the rides from our new shop in Altrincham and we’re happy to see Manchester professionals going further, faster in aid of this amazing charity.

What is the WeLoveMCR Fund?

The We Love Manchester Emergency Fund was a charity set up to support the victims of the terrorist attack at Manchester Arena.

Launched by Manchester City Council in partnership with the British Red Cross it has so far raised over £15m. The money will be used to support those affected by the attack.

Join the electric bike ride boom

Electric bikes are revolutionising the cycling industry. 78 per cent of all bikes sold in the Netherlands, a country famous for its cycling culture, were electric.

The electric bike market is expected to grow at least 20 per cent during 2017. The bikes are popular with commuters and couriers and 50cycles.com is the UK’s fastest growing retailer. To book yourself on a test ride of an electric bike in your own town click here.

We were proud to help bring attention to this amazing charity initiative involving Manchester’s leading legal, accountancy and corporate finance business professionals.
